Role
* Manage a caseload of pre‑ and post‑litigation housing conditions claims on behalf of tenants
* Comply with the Pre‑Action Protocol for Housing Disrepair Claims
* Apply relevant legislation, including the Landlord & Tenant Act
* Draft letters of claim and collate special damages
* Review housing records to assess liability
* Review surveyors’ reports (both Claimant and Defendant)
* Conduct negotiations, settlements, and mediations
* Liaise with counsel and issue court proceedings
* Competently use a case management system (Proclaim or similar)
* Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues across the business
* Support wider team activities to ensure smooth business operations
Essential Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in Housing Disrepair or at least 10 years of contentious civil litigation experience
* Ability to bill at Grade B or above
* Experience using case management systems (Proclaim experience preferred)
* Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
* Highly organised, self‑motivated, and able to manage competing priorities
* Demonstrated ability to handle litigation independently and work to tight deadlines
