We are looking for a Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our therapy stroke rehabilitation team in South Bristol Community Hospital.
You will be working with experienced health care professionals as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team who will give support, joint working, regular supervision, appraisal, competencies and training programme.
The unit consists of 30 beds at South Bristol Community Hospital, which provides a purpose built environment where patients who are medically stable can receive stroke rehabilitation assessment, along with focused therapy and support from our multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
* Promote optimum independence through encouraging rehabilitation techniques.
* As a therapy support worker you will be a key figure in completing the day to day rehabilitation with patients under the instruction of the lead therapists. You will be required to provide feedback on patients progress and help to ensure that they achieve their maximum potential.
* Undertake a range of delegated clinical and therapy led activities to support patients on the caseload.
* To provide safe, patient centred, effective and evidence-based clinical activities.
* The post holder will work under direct supervision and be responsible to senior therapists providing one to one and group rehabilitation.
* You will work within the Adult Service to deliver a full range of health and social care activities, both acute and long term, supported by a robust competency framework to adults within the complex assessment beds.
* You will be part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team (MDT), which includes nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other Allied Healthcare Professionals
