Qualifications
* Construction related qualification – e.g. BSc in Construction Management or HNC/HND (preferred but not essential)
* Site Management Safety Training Scheme such as SMSTS or SSSTS – desired but not required
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as an assistant project manager or in project management within the construction industry
* Good knowledge of construction processes
* Experience with commercial and design-and-build projects is beneficial
* Exceptional leadership, management and organisational skills
* Confidence with a range of IT systems and software, specifically Microsoft Office and project management tools
* Ability to read and understand drawings
* Self‑motivated, proactive and a positive attitude
* Excellent team player who can integrate and inspire others
* Full UK driving licence (minimum 6 months’ experience post‑test)
* Willingness to undertake training and personal development

Job Description
Reporting to an Executive Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will support the department and on‑site team to ensure that the allocated projects run efficiently, profitably and in full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and contract conditions.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Project Manager with their managing role and run own small works projects.
* Support and monitor Health & Safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
* Attend regular site meetings with clients and other professionals.
* Prepare reports, programmes, progress and profitability reports.
* Price and agree instructions with the client or their agents.
* Contribute to formulating valuations and final accounts.
* Assist with the preparation of tenders.
* Procure, negotiate terms and monitor the performance of sub‑contractors and suppliers.
* Identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
* Assist in the preparation of estimates and tenders.
* Procure new clients.
* Ensure exceptional levels of customer care at all times.
* Produce relevant monthly reports for the Director (e.g. cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts) ensuring information is complete and accurate.
* Contribute to and attend financial and progress meetings.
* Provide support to the site team to optimise the use of contract resources.
* Support the Project Manager in terms of data input and other tasks.
* Achieve deadlines in line with requirements.
* Provide cover for other associated staff during absences.
* Use the bespoke computer system and other software packages such as Word, Excel and Project.
* Undertake duties in line with role progression and business requirements.

This is a full‑time position (42 hours per week) potentially requiring travel and occasional overnight stays as needed.
07:45 hrs to 17:15 hrs – Monday to Thursday
07:45 hrs to 16:45 hrs – Friday
