Location: Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance, Glasgow Prestwick Airport
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Machinist / Toolmaker to join our engineering team supporting aircraft maintenance operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in precision machining within the aviation industry. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
Perform a range of precision machining operations manufacture and repair aircraft components and tooling.
* Manufacture and machine aircraft components and repair parts to exact specifications.
* Fabricate tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support engineering and maintenance activities.
* Produce and maintain accurate work packs and documentation in line with company procedures.
* Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure high-quality workmanship.
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those set out in the Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, following all health and safety protocols.
* Collaborate effectively with workshop teams and supervisors to meet production and maintenance schedules.
* Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the demands of a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
Requirements
* Strong interest in Engineering, Machining or Toolmaking.
* AutoCAD or other CAD software desirable but not essential
* Previous workshop, machining or engineering experience preferred
* Basic understanding of reading and interpreting engineering and technical drawings.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
* Comfortable preparing work cards/work packs and maintaining accurate documentation.
* Strong communication skills with excellent spoken and written English.
* Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Willing and able to work shift patterns (4 on / 4 off).
* Committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance.
* Must have unrestricted right to work in the UK.
