As an integral part of the classroom team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic support as well as behavioural and emotional guidance to students, ensuring a nurturing and productive learning environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the classroom teacher in planning, delivering, and evaluating learning activities across the curriculum.- Work closely with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts, address specific educational needs, and support their academic development.- Provide targeted support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, adapting resources and strategies to cater to their individual requirements.- Employ effective behavior management strategies to maintain a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.- Encourage and assist children in developing independence and self-regulation skills.- Monitor and track student progress, reporting any concerns to the classroom teacher and contributing to pupil records as necessary.- Facilitate a safe and engaging learning environment by adhering to the school’s policies and procedures.- Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and the setting up of equipment for lessons and activities.- Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required. Qualifications and Skills: - An understanding of the primary education curriculum, particularly Year 6.- Experience in supporting children with SEND is highly desirable.- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and pupils.- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.- A commitment to child safeguarding and welfare.
