Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Immunisation Team are responsible for the delivery of the national school based vaccination programme including Influenza, HPV and Teenage boosters, across Birmingham and Solihull

The service also delivers the neonatal Hepatitis B vaccination programme and supports opportunistic MMR vaccination.

The service is based at three locations across the city

Lansdowne Health Centre B18 7EE, Springfield's Centre B29 6JB and Hob Moor Road B10 9JH.

We currently have vacancies at the Lansdowne site.

We are looking for enthusiastic self motivated registered nurse(s)- adult or children's, to join our team.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the smooth running and administration of nurse-led Immunisation sessions across educational establishments, community clinics and homes settings.

Experience of vaccinations is desirable but not essential, as full training and support will be given.

The post holder will also be involved in the implementation of public health strategies to optimise the uptake of immunisations as well as Health promotion education around the programmes delivered by the service.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


To contribute to the development, planning and delivery of a variety of Immunisations within a number of different environments.

1. To undertake appropriate health assessments prior to Immunisation, in line with national guidance, Immunisation policy and the best evidence based practice.
2. To liaise with schools, families and other organisations, providing clear, relevant information promoting Immunisations and supporting the process of obtaining informed consent.
3. To deliver the immunisations ensuring safe and best practice is maintained.
4. To be competent in all aspects of Immunisations and act as a resource for professionals, public education and other services.
5. To participate in the induction and training of new staff, student nurses and other appropriate care workers.
6. To assist in the ordering of vaccines and Immunisation equipment.



UK Home Office Visa Sponsorship requirements

In accordance with UK Home Office requirements, Band 2 clinical and non-clinical roles and Band 3 Non-Clinical roles are not eligible for sponsorship.

Please note that the majority of non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Band with the exception of those which appear on this list - link, will not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK.

All non-clinical roles (Agenda for Change Bands that meet the prescribed skill level (RQF 6) and salary threshold will be eligible for sponsorship.

The Trust will accept applications from candidates who can evidence their right to work in the UK or via alternative visa routes.
