As the Senior Instrument Engineer, you will be the technical lead for all instrumentation and control systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Your role is crucial in ensuring equipment reliability, regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP, FDA), and operational efficiency through the design, maintenance, and optimisation of instrumentation and process control systems. Key Responsibilities * Lead the specification, design, installation, calibration, and maintenance of all process instrumentation and control systems (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level sensors). * Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for control systems, ensuring compliance with GMP, FDA, MHRA, and other relevant standards. * Collaborate with validation, QA, and production teams to ensure instrumentation meets validation and regulatory requirements. * Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules and calibration plans in line with GAMP and internal SOPs. * Support and lead troubleshooting for instrumentation and automation issues during routine operations and shutdowns. * Contribute to capital projects, including equipment upgrades and installation of new control systems (DCS/PLC/SCADA). * Ensure robust documentation and change control practices are followed for any instrumentation modifications (change control, deviation management). * Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and technicians. * Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and data integrity
