Your Role
Stockport Family is looking for an experienced Social Worker to join our Out of Hours (OOH) Team part time, working a shift pattern outside of normal hours. The OOH service provides an effective and timely response to urgent notifications that occur outside usual business hours identifying a child or adult who is vulnerable and at risk of harm. You will join a well-established, highly experienced team of Social Workers to perform this statutory social care function with support from Team Manager and On Call Service Lead.
Responsibilities include statutory social work functions such as Section 47 investigations, decision making, safeguarding adult investigations, placement of children (including pace beds) and adults in residential care, and welfare visits and checks.
You will be provided with a solo Protect device for personal security while lone working and for discreet contact in emergencies 24/7.
About You
You will be a passionate social work practitioner, reflective and able to respond quickly to urgent social work interventions to ensure safety and best outcomes for children, families and adults. You will use professional judgement to apply a range of interventions while balancing rights and risks. You must have current Social Work England registration and at least 3 years’ experience in a statutory children’s social work team. You should be committed to professional development and excited about joining Stockport Family. We value diversity and strive to reflect the diverse communities we serve.
