Due to ongoing growth, our client is seeking an experienced and proactivePurchasing Manager to lead their Stores Team. This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for overseeing the parts and purchasing function that underpins the efficient operation of the workshop. You'll ensure the right parts are sourced at the right price, with minimal delays reducing vehicle downtime and enhancing service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Stores department. Develop, implement, and continuously review purchasing and stock control processes. Support the workshop by identifying and procuring the correct parts for vehicle repairs and maintenance. Manage goods-inwards and receipting processes, and issue parts to jobs in a timely manner. Maintain accurate inventory and stock records, tracking all parts and orders. Ensure urgent parts are sourced and delivered quickly and cost-effectively. Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, technicians, and internal teams. Process parts returns, exchanges, and handle any warranty issues. Prepare accurate quotations for customer-requested parts. Organise and optimise the layout and efficiency of the parts department. Take full responsibility for stock control, stock levels, and regular audits. What Were Looking For: Strong knowledge of automotive parts and workshop operations. Proven experience in a purchasing, stock control, or parts management role. Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise under pressure. Confident communicator with strong phone and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel comfortable with spreadsheets, data entry, and inventory tracking. Ability to multitask in a busy, fast-moving environment.
