Description

Discover yourself in Lewisham where what you do makes a difference to our vibrant and culturally diverse communities

We have a rich history of welcoming people from all over the world and are proud to be recognised as the UK's first Borough of Sanctuary, for our work in championing the rights of refugees and migrants.

Introduction

Join Lewisham's Integrated Adolescent Service as a Senior Systemic Practitioner, where you will play a key role in shaping high‑quality, relational, and trauma‑informed practice for adolescents and their families. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced systemic practitioner to take on a leadership‑influencing role supporting practitioners, strengthening reflective practice, and contributing to an innovative, anti‑racist, and multidisciplinary service focused on improving safety, wellbeing, and relational outcomes for young people.

What's the role?

The Senior Systemic Practitioner leads the delivery of systemic and goal‑based interventions for children, young people, and families, while also supporting the wider service to embed systemic thinking across practice. You will hold a caseload of complex and high‑risk work, facilitate consultations and reflective spaces, and provide systemic‑informed supervision to practitioners. As a senior member of the team, you will also deputise for the Hub Manager when required, contributing to operational oversight, multidisciplinary coordination, and service development. This role sits at the heart of promoting relational, contextual, trauma‑informed, and anti‑racist practice across the Integrated Adolescent Service.

What's in it for you?

Excellent training and development opportunities, plus a range of benefits including:

* Generous holiday allowance
* Local Government Pension scheme
* Flexible working and family friendly policies
* Season ticket and bicycle loans
* A range of staff discounts including local subsidised gym memberships
* Supportive staff networks

What we're looking for

We are seeking an experienced and confident systemic practitioner with a strong grounding in systemic theory, adolescent development, and safeguarding frameworks. You will bring at least three years' experience applying systemic approaches in direct work, along with the skills to facilitate reflective spaces, lead consultations, and support practitioners to develop their systemic capability. You'll be emotionally intelligent, relational, and skilled at navigating complex multi‑agency environments. A commitment to anti‑racist, inclusive, and trauma‑informed practice is essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities within a high‑risk caseload. If you are reflective, collaborative, and passionate about influencing practice at both an individual and systems level, we would love to hear from you.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
