Our Customer Support and Service Solutions Division (CS3) is looking for a Senior Commercial Officer to join our team supporting our rotary projects. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the commercial success of the rotary portfolio - supporting contract delivery, building strong customer relationships, and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
You'll work closely with the Integrated Project Team and customer teams to foster collaboration, ensuring best practices are followed while driving forward-thinking commercial solutions. This position will also lead bids within the commercial function and contribute to the development of a successful programme for CS3 by promoting continuous improvement and supporting business opportunities.
What you'll do as a Senior Commercial Officer
- Act as the commercial lead for the rotary area, maintaining strong relationships and a visible presence at the customer site.
- Represent the commercial function in stakeholder and customer meetings, including bid reviews and governance.
- Prepare and submit bids, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and business objectives.
- Support the Commercial Manager by attending internal meetings.
- Provide commercial advice and guidance, including repairs proposals, SAP transactions, and ad-hoc contract administration.
- Identify and implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance performance and support strategic growth.
What you''ll bring
Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of commercial management, contracts, and business frameworks
Bid management: Experience preparing and submitting bids, tenders, or proposals
Customer Relationship Management: Proven ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with customers and stakeholders
Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating terms, pricing, and contractual agreements to achieve win-win outcomes
Stakeholder engagement: Confident in representing the commercial function at all levels, including customer and sector management meetings
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
Attention to detail: High level of accuracy when managing contract documents, bids and commercial transactions
Organisational skills: Strong time management and ability to prioritise across multiple projects or contracts
Problem solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and developing practical, innovative solutions
Desirable Skills:
Aerospace or defence sector experience
Knowledge of SAP
Security Clearance
This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
