CNC Recruitment are proud to work with a wholesale business that supplies the leisure vehicle industry, including van-to-camper converters, horsebox builders, and caravan & motorhome dealers. Location: Wincanton Salary: £45,000 £55,000 Contract: Full Time, Permanent Hours: Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:15pm Role Purpose To lead and manage all warehouses, logistics, operational support, and people management functions, ensuring efficient, safe, compliant, and cost-effective storage, handling, and distribution of goods. The role is responsible for stock control, logistics performance, quality standards, HR processes, team development, and supporting sales and customer service operations. Person Specification Essential Attributes Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to challenges A clear desire to achieve, improve performance, and drive results Ability to follow processes and ensure compliance across teams and operations High attention to detail, particularly in stock control, quality, and compliance Strong leadership and communication skills Organised, structured, and able to manage multiple priorities Duties and Responsibilities Warehouse Operations, Stock & Quality Control Manage all daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, labelling, and dispatching. Oversee packing processes, ensuring correct materials, ordering, methods, and full compliance with company, customer, carrier, and regulatory requirements. Maintain high standards of quality control, ensuring products are handled, packed, and dispatched in line with quality standards. Manage stock control, including inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and location management. Conduct regular cycle counts and annual stock audits, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions. Monitor, review, and resolve non-conformance claims, including damaged goods, shortages, and quality issues. Manage returns, damaged goods, and non-conforming materials, ensuring root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment in line with health & safety requirements. Logistics, Couriers, Contractors & Equipment Plan and coordinate logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials to production and finished goods to customers. Manage inbound and outbound transport operations, including route optimisation and freight cost control. Manage courier and haulier companies, including contract negotiation, performance reviews, compliance monitoring, and cost management. Track shipments and resolve delivery issues such as delays, damages, or service failures. Manage subcontractors and on-site work scheduling, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to required standards. Manage the servicing, maintenance, and repair of warehouse equipment, plant, and material handling equipment People Management, HR, Recruitment & Training Lead, manage, and develop warehouse, logistics, and sales support teams, ensuring appropriate resourcing and coverage. Manage recruitment, onboarding, induction, and ongoing training for all relevant staff. Oversee staff scheduling and resource planning to meet operational demands. Deliver performance management, including appraisals, objective setting, coaching, and development planning. Handle day-to-day HR matters including absence management, disciplinary processes, and employee relations. Identify training needs and coordinate staff training across health & safety, systems, equipment, and quality procedures. Promote a positive culture of accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Sales & Customer Support Manage and support the sales support and customer service function, ensuring effective resourcing and service levels. Work closely with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth order processing, fulfilment, and delivery performance. Act as an escalation point for customer issues relating to deliveries, quality, stock availability, and non-conformance claims. Systems, Compliance & Continuous Improvement Manage Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems to ensure accurate data, reporting, and traceability. Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, quality standards, transport regulations, and company policies. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service levels, quality, and cost control. Qualifications & Experience Essential Minimum 5 years experience in warehouse and logistics management within a manufacturing, wholesale, or industrial environment. Proven experience managing warehouse staff, sales support/customer service teams, contractors, and third-party logistics providers. Strong experience in HR processes, recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance appraisals. Excellent understanding of stock control, quality control, logistics, and distribution best practices. Strong working knowledge of ERP and WMS systems. In-depth knowledge of health & safety and operational compliance. Desirable Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. Experience managing subcontractors and equipment servicing schedules. Import/export or international logistics experience. Forklift licence or strong knowledge of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
