Overview
Sedgwick – Building Surveyor role, East Midlands, United Kingdom. Permanent position. Remuneration: competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications.
Join Sedgwick to lead and manage projects to restore properties damaged by insured perils, with values from £50k to £5m. Depending on project size, you may work alone or lead a small team with QSs, CAD technicians, and engineers. You will work closely with Loss Adjusting teams to build relationships, and the ability to attract non-insurance clients is valued.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage projects to restore damaged properties (values £50k–£5m).
* Conduct technical reporting, defect diagnosis, and prepare Schedules of Works.
* Administer contracts and manage projects from inception to completion.
* Empathise with clients who have suffered loss or bereavement; deliver professional reports within tight deadlines.
* Manage workloads and make reasoned decisions under pressure.
* Collaborate with QSs, CAD technicians, engineers, and Loss Adjusting teams.
Qualifications
* Full UK Driving Licence; ability to travel by car.
* Excellent communication skills with policyholders, insurers, contractors, and others; ability to explain complex details and negotiate settlements.
* Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
* Chartered status (or working towards); MRICS or MCIOB preferred, and actively working towards Chartered status.
Helpful, but Not Essential
* Use of Apple software (e.g., iPads) or other tablets.
