Role: Head of Hydropower Type: Permanent Pay: Up to £80,000 car allowance Hours: 37.5 per week, flexible Location: Coventry (Remote with occasional travel) I’m supporting a leading engineering group and due to continued growth within their Hydro Power division, they’re looking for a Head of Hydropower. This is to lead commercial expansion, drive new business, and develop key customer relationships across the Hydro market. As the Head of Hydropower, you’ll take ownership of sales strategy, market development and key accounts across the UK and Europe. You’ll combine strong technical understanding with proactive business development, visiting Hydro customers in the UK, Europe and occasionally internationally. You’ll also lead tenders, manage bids, and work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure successful delivery. Head of Hydropower Job Description Lead business development and market growth across the UK & Europe Hydro sector, identifying and securing new opportunities. Act as the main point of contact for Hydro customers, managing relationships and driving account development. Lead the full bid and tendering process, including commercial negotiations and contract terms. Promote the company at industry events, exhibitions, and customer visits across the UK, Europe, and occasionally internationally Maintain accurate pipelines, forecasts, and updates through business management systems. Work closely with engineering and project teams, supporting handovers, project reviews, and ensuring technical and regulatory requirements are communicated clearly. Head of Hydropower Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications Demonstrable experience within the Hydro Power, Power Station or rotating machinery sector. Proven track record in business development, commercial sales or tendering within a technical/engineering environment. Engineering background preferred (mechanical or electrical). Strong understanding of rotating machines, technical drawings or industrial engineering concepts. Ability to lead tender responses and negotiate contracts. Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
