About the Senior Financial Accountant opportunity:

Purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant opportunity:
To lead a professionally focused corporate finance team.
Provide financial and commercial advice and support across a range of directorates.
To ensure the council produces the necessary information and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with statutory regulations.Key duties and responsibilities of the Senior Financial Accountant will include:
To assist and support the Head of Financial Accounts in providing strategic financial direction.
Lead on the delivery of high-quality, efficient financial services and regulations to support the delivery of corporate aims and objectives.
To support and represent the city council strategic objectives.
Ensure statutory accounts are prepared accurately and on time in line with regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the development and oversee the treasury management activities.Required experience of the Senior Financial Accountant:
A fully qualified finance professional (CIPFA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
Experience in statutory reporting and treasury management.
Strong knowledge of corporate financial policies and strategies.
Experience of implementing financial strategies.
