Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and private residences. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being, and promoting their independence.
Duties
* Provide personal care assistance to clients, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions.
* Assist with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
* Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals and adjust support based on client needs.
* Administer medication as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
* Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
* Observe patients for any signs of distress or changes in behavior and report findings to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in caregiving or support roles within home health, hospice care, nursing homes, or long-term care settings is preferred.
* Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills to interact positively with clients, families, and team members.
* Understanding of patient rights under HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
* A compassionate attitude towards supporting individuals with diverse needs.
