Base Pay Range
EAP Telephone Counsellor
Hybrid Role – Glasgow or Bracknell
Salary range £26,000 to £30,000 based on full‑time hours (37.5 per week). Part‑time hours are pro‑rata.
You will be:
* Conducting Initial Clinical Assessments/Triage of client needs, leading to appropriate clinical pathways.
* Delivering a range of support via booked assessment appointments, in‑the‑moment support or booked single sessions via telephone and/or video calls.
* Carrying out Risk Assessments and following the Safeguarding and Risk Protocol process.
* Managing a caseload of clients requiring Structured Counselling, paced to contractual hours and service needs.
* Writing brief, accurate and concise clinical notes for all interactions.
* Working as part of our Support Line Team.
Requirements
Able to work a minimum of 22.5 hrs per week (at least one day‑shift based in‑office at Glasgow or Bracknell – mandatory).
* Qualified as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist (L4 and above) with BACP/COSCA (or similar) registered status.
* Good IT skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Strong clinical background with excellent assessment skills.
* Able to make sound clinical decisions while maintaining boundaries.
* Team‑player with excellent time‑management, communication and organisational skills.
* Able to work in a busy environment and manage pressure.
* Previous EAP/Telephone Counselling or time‑limited assessment experience is advantageous but not mandatory (training will be provided).
* Subjects may be required to work an additional shift each month (e.g., Saturday, Sunday, overnight) to cover rota shortages.
* Part‑time role pays pro‑rata salary.
Shift Patterns (optional)
* 8 am – 4 pm, 10 am – 6 pm, 12 pm – 8 pm, 2 pm – 10 pm (half or full days)
* 4 pm – Midnight (Home)
* Midnight – 6 am (Home)
* Weekend shifts (Home) – can consider permanent weekend shifts for work/life balance.
