Position: Technician - Inside IR35
Location: Cardiff, South Wales
Duration: Approximately 9 months
Salary: £30 per hour (night shifts)
On Track Group is a leading provider of maintenance and servicing solutions for rolling stock in the UK. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technician to join our team in Cardiff, South Wales. This is a temporary position, expected to last for approximately 9 months and will be paid at a rate of £30 per hour for night shifts.
As a Technician, you will be responsible for performing a range of maintenance and servicing tasks on rolling stock, ensuring that they are kept in optimal condition and meet all safety and regulatory requirements. This will include conducting inspections, diagnosing and repairing faults, and carrying out routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting inspections of rolling stock and identifying any faults or issues
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks
- Ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and any parts used
- Communicating effectively with team members and other departments to coordinate work and resolve any issues
- Adhering to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines
Requirements:
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 or Apprenticeship in relevant discipline
- Previous experience as a Technician, ideally within the rail industry
- Strong mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnostic and repair skills
- Working knowledge of rolling stock systems and components
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Flexible and able to work night shifts
