AutoCAD Engineer Role Overview We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Engineer to join our site-based engineering team in the Reading area. This role involves supporting project delivery through CAD design review, technical coordination, and integration of multi-system drawings. You'll work closely with design engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure all designs meet client specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with design engineers to validate and optimise engineering designs. Review subcontractor drawings and documentation for compliance with project specifications. Manage and resolve technical queries throughout the project lifecycle. Support project scheduling and task allocation in coordination with Lead Engineers and PMs. Participate in factory acceptance tests and project sign-off activities. Work across multiple systems and software platforms, including: AutoCAD MEP AutoCAD Plant 3D NAVIS Works Point Cloud data Clash detection and model integrationCandidate Requirements Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. CSCS card holder. Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, pharma, oil & gas) preferred. Eligible for Security Clearance (SC). Strong understanding of project lifecycle phases and engineering documentation. Familiarity with electrical safety standards (18th Edition, BS EN 13849). Awareness of PLC systems and ISO 9001 environments. Excellent technical writing and reporting skills. Ability to interpret complex specifications and apply relevant standards. Strong organisational and communication skills, with a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.
