Your new role I’m currently looking for a Technical Risk Controls Assurance specialist to work for a Lancashire-based organisation to assist with the maintenance, enhancement and assurance of technical controls during a period of change. The ideal candidate will have a firm knowledge of ITGCs and experience driving and testing controls, and may havee from an IT Audit or information security risk background, possessing the relevant framework knowledge thates with this role history.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical control enhancement, development and implementation
2. Testing business-wide IT controls against an annual schedule
3. Supporting information assurance and controls teams
4. Scheme attestations – thorough reviews of control statements
5. Supporting technical operations, supplier management and operational resilience on risks, with the view to creating, driving and providing assurance on preventative, detective and directive technical controls
6. Working with key stakeholders and embedding your understanding of information security from a controls perspective
7. Taking ownership of assurance activities pertaining to technical controls
8. Working on the continual enhancement of technical controls using your knowledge of contemporary risks and the controls to mitigate, escalate or accept them
9. Act as a technical risk and control SME
What you'll need to succeed
10. Knowledge of what a good control looks like but also has the ability to effectively test controls
11. Understanding of core technology and information security frameworks (COBIT, NIST, ISO27001)
12. Excellent articulative ability
13. Demonstrable experience working in IT audit, IT risk management, technical controls testing/management and IT risk & assurance-related roles
14. Experience in an IT assurance role
15. Experience testing controls and enhancing information security and IT Risk policies
16. Relevant industry certifications are desirable, as is the drive to achieve them.
