General Manager – Classic Car Restoration

2. Salary: Up to £42,000 basic + bonus
3. Hours: Monday – Friday, full-time
We are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager to lead a well-regarded classic car restoration business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a background in automotive or restoration, and a genuine appreciation for classic vehicles.
As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the business, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and smooth workshop operations. You will drive growth, manage staff, and ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
Key Responsibilities as a General Manager:
4. Oversee daily operations across workshop, restoration, and administration.
5. Lead and support a team of skilled technicians and office staff.
6. Manage customer relationships, providing updates and ensuring expectations are met.
7. Plan and monitor restoration projects to ensure quality and deadlines are achieved.
8. Take responsibility for budgets, financial performance, and business growth.
9. Ensure health & safety, compliance, and quality standards are upheld.
10. Identify opportunities to expand services, improve processes, and increase profitability.
About You:
11. Proven management or leadership experience (automotive/restoration background preferred).
12. Strong organisational and people management skills.
13. A genuine passion for classic and heritage vehicles.
14. Commercially minded with budgeting and business development experience.
15. Excellent communication skills with a customer-first approach.
16. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
