The Role
As Assistant Buyer, you will support the delivery of a professional, compliant materials supply service for project teams across the UK. You’ll liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and industry partners to secure best value on goods and services, while ensuring ethical and sustainable sourcing.
Relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within the Rail or construction/engineering industry is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Procuring construction materials and services across multiple sectors.
* Supplier selection, price negotiations, and contract support.
* Building strong relationships with project teams and supply chain partners to ensure "right-first-time" delivery.
* Monitoring market trends, innovations, and supply chain developments.
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and reports, supporting KPIs and governance requirements.
About You
* Experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain within construction or related industries.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Commercial awareness and the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Commitment to ethical sourcing and sustainability.
