Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Manager to join our team in providing exceptional care within our Children's Residential Service.
An ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential management, in particular within a hildren's setting.
The role will support the Registsered Manager and will be responsible for managing the service with support in the absence of the manager and deputsining during the managers presence.
This role requires a strong knowledge of OFSTED regulatory expectations and leadership skills with and hands-on involvement in care delivery, ensuring that all residents receive the highest standard of care tailored to their individual needs.
Duties
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
* Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to promote a positive working environment.
* Raise an review personalised care plans.
* Administer medications as required, maintaining accurate records of medication administration.
* Foster strong relationships with professionals and families and significant others.
* Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld throughout the chilren's home.
* The Deputy Manager will be a Designated Safeguarding Lead for and may at times be involved with managing any safeguarding concerns within the company.
* The Deputy Manager must promote safe ways of working at all times, utilising safe ways of risk assessing and relevant plans and guidance to so do.
* The Deputy Manager may at times be part of any investigation processes, will be required to liaise with Safeguarding professionals, LADO and the regulatory body, Ofsted regarding any safeguarding matters and may include other professionals around the child.
* The Deputy Manager will be responsible for reporting serious events, raising relevant documentation to support the day to day running of the home and ensuring all quality assurance monitoring is undertaken in line with policy and procedures.
* The Deputy Manager must promote the safeguarding culture, professional boundaries for the organisation at all times. Manage robustly matters that fall below expectations.
* To be a part of the interview panel as the manager of the home and ensure that safer recruitment practices are always followed. To be a part of the decision-making process
* To actively engage successfully with safeguarding training and training that promotes and supports the children's home. Ensure that training is continual to promote ongoing personal development for all.
* Provide regular workshops, discussions that improve the homes functioning in every aspect. To support the quality of training undertaken and bespoke ways of working so personalised care can underpin the best possible opportunities for the children and staff providing a continual linear and qualitative level pf support and care.
Experience
* Wish for longevity within an organsation.
* Successfully attained a relevant Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Be willing to progress within the organsisation including that of an educational attainment. Leading to the to Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social care.
* A minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory role within a children's residential setting is prefferable.
* To provide consistent care and leadership to develop a Good standard of care and support to special children.
