In September we began working with Trinity Multi Academy Trust with a view to joining their family of academies. Trinity is a growing and respected trust currently comprising of 11 academies, spanning primary to post-16 education and they have a strong and proud track record of helping schools to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of young people.
It’s an exciting time to be part of St Thomas’ as we enter this new chapter.
We are now seeking to appoint a Pastoral Manager to our team. This newly established role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of a strong pastoral provision and play a key role within the academy.
As Pastoral Manager you will report directly to the Principal and will work closely with the senior leadership team to:
1. provide strategic leadership of the pastoral systems across the academy with the aim of raising the aspirations/self-esteem and attendance of pupils
2. ensure high quality child protection and safeguarding practices are embedded within the life of the academy
3. develop systems that enhance pupil engagement,
4. lead on personal development initiatives
5. liaise with staff, parents, other education institutions and multi-agency partners to support pupils' progress and overall development.
6. lead, develop and mentor the pastoral team
What we need:
7. recent relevant experience
8. experience of successfully working with identified disaffected pupils, or groups of pupils.
9. experience of working with young people with SEN or behavioural issues
10. experience of leading or managing a team
