Salary: £34,398 – £46,839 (dependent on experience)
The Opportunity
A highly regarded primary school in Hemel Hempstead is looking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teacher to join its team from September 2026. The school prides itself on its inclusive values, supportive staff culture, and commitment to both the academic and personal growth of its pupils.
This long-term role is well suited to experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) eager to make a meaningful difference in Upper Key Stage 2.
About the Role
You will lead a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that prepare pupils for their transition into Year 6. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop pupils’ independence, resilience, and enthusiasm for learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
Differentiate teaching to cater to a range of abilities and learning styles
Deliver high-quality lessons in reading, writing, and mathematics
Monitor pupil progress, provide meaningful feedback, and identify next steps
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and foster a positive classroom environment
Work collaboratively with colleagues on planning, assessment, and curriculum development
Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
Contribute to enrichment opportunities and the wider school community
About You
The school is seeking a passionate and committed teacher who is dedicated to supporting pupils in Upper Key Stage 2.
You will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification
Have experience teaching within KS2 (Year 5 experience is beneficial)
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge across the KS2 curriculum
Be confident in classroom management and reflective in your practice
Show enthusiasm for supporting both academic achievement and personal development
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
