We are recruiting for a large international manufacturing organisation based in Telford. They are looking for a Costing Analyst on a permanent basis. This role is vital to ensuring a robust, accurate, and timely reporting process to support key business decisions.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct detailed analysis of all manufacturing activities, including variable labour, machine efficiency, and material usage (actual versus standard).
2. Prepare and process monthly management account journals for all manufacturing activities.
3. Reconcile associated balance sheet accounts.
4. Produce monthly reports for Operational Managers on manufacturing variances.
5. Generate monthly reports for Supply Chain Managers on purchase price variance analysis and related costs, including taxes and landed costs.
6. Review and monitor stock valuation and provisions, including stock adjustments, obsolescence, negative stocks, sample stocks, quarantine stocks, and external stock warehouses.
7. Create a monthly report explaining stock valuation.
8. Participate in the year-end standard costing process for budgeting.
9. Perform costing analysis for new products and modifications to existing products.
10. Ensure BOM & Routing accuracy.
11. Assist with year-end accounting and compliance audit work.
12. Build strong relationships across the business to gather data necessary for accurate cost forecasting.
13. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to provide accurate and forecasted production costs.
14. Handle associated ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will ideally have experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment, with knowledge of estimating or costing techniques and variance analysis. You should be a confident communicator, comfortable speaking to individuals at all levels within the business. Good analytical and data validation skills are essential, along with proficiency in working with large volumes of data. Strong MS Excel skills are required.
