Verallia UK has three sites based in West Yorkshire, with ongoing multimillion-pound investment, which includes the installation of new furnace technology, state of the art glass forming machines, automation, and new employee facilities. To support our growth and increasing production demands, we are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and proactive individuals to join our Engineering Departments as an On-Call General Maintenance Engineers across our West Yorkshire. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working within a small team, the role is responsible for the care and upkeep of a wide variety of heavy plant equipment, and for the provision of an on-call service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in five), covering 365 days per year. This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation of the site and machinery. Suitable candidates must be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English, together with excellent problem-solving skills. In addition, skills and knowledge of fabrication and welding are essential. They should also be enthusiastic and committed, with a flexible approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload is essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be advantageous, however not essential. This is a day position, working 40 hours per week, 6.00am to 2.00pm, Monday to Friday, however, there is an element of flexibility required and as such, start times may alter to suit factory needs.
