The role
As a CNC Machinist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join our precision manufacturing team at Devonport Royal Dockyard, where you’ll play a vital role in producing high-integrity components to exacting standards. Working in a highly regulated environment, this role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to critical defence infrastructure while developing specialist skills in a world-class engineering setting.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for manufacturing high precision components to high specifications.
* Interpret and manufacture components from technical drawings, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
* Program CNC machines directly from drawings or patterns to support bespoke or complex production tasks
* Set machines based on manufacturing plans, ensuring optimal tooling and operational readiness
* Conduct conformity checks to validate that finished components meet required quality and dimensional standards
* Operate CNC milling or turning machines
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience Of The CNC Machinist
* Proven experience operating CNC turning or milling machines in a precision manufacturing environment
* Skilled in programming and running multi-axis CNC turning centres, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
* Hands-on experience with Siemens and/or Mazak CNC control systems, with the ability to adapt to specific tooling and interface requirements
Qualifications For The CNC Machinist
* Level 3 in CNC programming, operating and/or machining
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
