The Client:
Loom Talent have partnered with a leading FMCG in Boston, Peterborough in their search for a 3PL Transport Commercial Manager. Our client is renowned for its innovative approach and ongoing commitment to delivering industry leading products across the globe.
The Role:
The 3PL Transport Commercial Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing end to end group Transport operations, provided by an outsourced 3PL partner.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Being responsible for UK Transport operations across inbound & outbound activities.
* Managing a Transport team of c.5 Planners & Admin's
* Ensuring commercial arrangements are aligned, whilst managing core, contracted SLA's are achieved.
* Ensuring excellent customer / end user service expectations are not only met, but exceeded.
* Leading the annual budgetary build and forecast related to your department.
* Responding to various day to day and seasonal logistical challenges are effectively managed.
* Influencing at all levels to ensure the right balance of service and cost are attained.
* Ensuring safety first culture is led through example.
* Leading the Logistics strategy for network optimisation and continuous improvement.
* Working in partnership with the internal Finance stakeholders to manage costs and related variance analysis feeding into the business reports.
* Supporting key internal stakeholders including Site Operations, Customer Services, Sales, Finance, and Logistics Service providers to deliver the most optimum service at the best possible cost.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate for the 3PL Transport Commercial Manager position will possess:
* A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background - Essential.
* 3+ years Sub-Contract / 3PL / Haulier Transport management experience – Essential.
* Previous experience in managing a Transport Planning function - Essential.
* Have previously built operational budgets in excess of £3m - Essential.
* A true passion for people development and providing excellent customer service - Essential.
* Continuous Improvement qualifications - Lean Six Sigma or Prince2 - Advantageous.
* A CPC National / International qualification, demonstrating your deep understanding of transportation regulations – Advantageous but not essential.
* Commutable to the Boston, Peterborough area for 3+ days per week - Essential.
The Salary & Package:
* Salary - £60,000 to £65,000 - Depending on experience.
* Company Car / Car Allowance.
* Company Bonus Scheme.
* 25 Days + 8 Bank Holidays
