About the Role
We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer with some High Voltage experience to join our Engineering Design team. You will be part of a team working on High Voltage electrical designs and producing the necessary drawings, running power systems simulations, and generating reports for Grid compliance studies. The team will also be responsible for specifying the switchgear and accessories for HV substations up to 132kV, communicating with the customer and suppliers as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Running simulations
2. Generating reports for Grid compliance studies
3. Specifying the switchgear and accessories for HV substations to 132kV
4. Monthly reporting to the Head of Engineering Design
Qualifications
1. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer – Relevant Electricity Institution – or working towards
2. Educated to a minimum of a Master’s degree level in electrical engineering
3. Prefer 3 years of experience in the electricity industry but newly qualified with Bachelor’s degree can apply.
4. Experience of using software models and CAD software
5. Knowledge of current UK industry regulations, including Electrical safety standards
Desirable Qualifications
1. Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Power systems
2. Health & Safety - IOSH or equivalent qualification
3. Earthing system design
