What's involved with this role: Role: Procurement Manager Job Ref: QAD 1733/0904 Pay Rate: Competitive Market rate Hours per week: 37 hours per week Contract Length: Anticipated 8 months Location: Reading, West Berkshire – Hybrid working We are seeking a Procurement Manager to support and execute strategic sourcing activities including supplier evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, business award and contract handover to the business. Key accountabilities: Lead procurement strategy development, including category management, supplier selection, and contract negotiation. Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Set clear performance objectives and expectations for team members, and provide regular feedback and coaching to support their professional development. Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify and evaluate potential vendors, assess their capabilities, and negotiate favourable terms and pricing. Develop and implement vendor management strategies to optimise supplier relationships and drive value for the company. Key requirements: Demonstrable knowledge/experience of public sector procurement regulations and experience of applying these to contracts and procurements.
