The Project Engineer will be working for a leading specialist in precision engineering solutions, working with some of the most respected names in the automotive and manufacturing industries. You'll play a key role in ensuring all engineering deliverables meet quality standards, manufacturability requirements, and customer needs. If you have a background in mechanical or automotive engineering and enjoy problem-solving, collaborating across teams, and seeing projects through from concept to production, this role offers the perfect mix of technical challenge and variety Responsibilities & day to day duties As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for: Participate in project kick-off meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Review and validate CAD models and engineering drawings for feasibility and manufacturability, reporting and escalating any issues with the drawings. Conduct feasibility and design reviews in collaboration with Quality, Operations, and Project Management. Drive technical actions to support new product introductions and continuous improvement. Play a key role in the "OK to Ship" approval process. Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to resolve technical queries and recommend design improvements. Support continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring all designs meet required industry and quality standards. Skills & experience required Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Strong understanding of CAD design, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, sheet metal, castings, and extrusions. Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles. Excellent communication skills with experience working in cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset. Experience within automotive or precision manufacturing environments preferred. Ideal for candidates who enjoy the technical challenge of translating design intent into manufacturable reality.
