An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Force Identification Unit, based at Aylesbury police station, although the successful candidate will be required to travel and work across other locations within the force area as needed for the role. The purpose of this role is to conduct eye-witness identification procedures in accordance with current legislation and force policy. This involves working with the Officer in the Case, suspects and defence solicitors, and the wider criminal justice system, to ensure that victims and witnesses are supported to provide the best identification evidence for our colleagues’ investigations.

A good standard of education is required together with strong literacy and numeracy skills. You will have excellent customer service skills with the ability to work under pressure and engage with people at all levels, including in difficult circumstances. Proven ability to prioritise, organise and manage your own time is essential. You will be IT literate and able to learn and use IT packages, including internal databases. Prior knowledge of eye-witness identification procedures, or a willingness and ability to be trained in them, is essential. A full driving licence is considered essential as capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly. The role will require some evening and weekend work as defined by the rota.
