Position
Lecturer in Robot Learning (Permanent, Full‑time, 100 %) at the School of Engineering, UWE Bristol.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will design and deliver both fundamental knowledge and innovative engineering content in Robot Learning, perception, task and motion planning, control and related robotics and AI disciplines, whilst contributing to research and knowledge exchange within the School of Engineering and the Bristol Robotics Laboratory.
Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Robot Learning and related areas.
* Mentor and supervise students, fostering academic growth and research skills.
* Initiate and contribute to research projects, including publications, proposals and knowledge‑exchange initiatives with industry partners.
* Engage with ongoing projects and support the development of a robust research portfolio aligned with the University’s Transforming Futures Research Strategy.
Qualifications and Experience
* PhD in Robotics, AI or a related discipline, or equivalent postgraduate level qualification with substantial professional experience.
* Demonstrated teaching experience at higher education level and evidence of effective teaching practice.
* Strong research record or clear plans to establish a research agenda in Robot Learning, systems engineering, or digital twin applications.
* Experience collaborating with industry and evidence of continuous professional development in relevant subject areas.
