EXCLUSIVE: HEAD OF COMPLIANCE & MLRO - UK PAYMENTS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

£120K - £140K + Bonus & Benefits Hybrid (London)
We are exclusively recruiting for our client, a rapidly growing international payments business, seeking a Head of Compliance & MLRO. Based in the UK you will be responsible for Group Compliance & AML oversight and will develop & maintain regulatory compliance policies, controls and processes. Reporting to the Board, and managing a small team, responsibilities will include;
* Monitor the day-to-day operation of the firm's Compliance & AML policies, and update the underlying processes, procedures, and activities to ensure they remain effective & accurate.
* Support and assist the Senior Leadership team and functional heads to understand their role, contribution and direct involvement in managing money laundering and terrorist financing risks.
* Perform regular quality assurance checks/audits of Client files to ensure adherence with Compliance related processes, procedures, and tasks.
* Attend to Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) from staff, conducting investigations to validate suspicion and reporting of suspicious transactions to National Crime Agency (NCA) and to record and maintain supporting documents.
* Attend to Production orders and requests for assistance from various agencies
* Produce and submit the external Annual Financial Crime Report for the FCA
* Produce and circulate the internal MLRO Annual Report for the Board of Directors.
* Ensure that Group is kept apprised of industry best practice and any developments or changes in the regulatory requirements and guidance, and ensure internal procedures are updated
* Participate in committees and perform ad hoc tasks as requested / assigned from time to time
* Take responsibility for actions required within the compliance monitoring plan
You should have at least 3 years’ experience as a Head of Compliance with a similar payments business, able to operate at a strategic level, advising the Board and senior Leadership Team whilst still able to roll up your sleeves and carry out some of the detailed work yourself. You should also have strong relationship management skills, able to work well with Regulators and other external stakeholders.
