Job Summary
DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, International Business Controller to support international finance across multiple regions, including West Yorkshire, Diegem, Prague, Maidenhead, Pinewood, and Ireland. The role will drive financial performance, transparency, and decision‑making in a global organization undergoing transformation and growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide financial leadership and business partnering support to international commercial and operational teams.
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes for assigned international regions.
* Analyze financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
* Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, internal controls, and statutory reporting requirements.
* Support pricing, investment, and profitability analyses to enable informed business decisions.
* Partner with cross‑functional teams (Commercial, Supply Chain, Operations) to drive financial discipline and efficiency.
* Lead and develop financial processes to improve reporting accuracy, timeliness, and standardization across markets.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives, including business reviews, transformation efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline (required).
* Master’s degree or MBA (preferred).
Experience and Skills – Required
* Minimum 6–8 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including business controlling or financial planning roles.
* Experience supporting international or multi‑country operations.
* Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting capabilities.
* Demonstrated ability to partner with senior stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
* Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance, and financial governance.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., ERP, planning tools).
Experience and Skills – Preferred
* Experience in a global matrixed organization, ideally within medical devices, healthcare, or a regulated industry.
* Prior people leadership or indirect team leadership experience.
* Experience supporting commercial finance, pricing, or margin management activities.
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Experience driving process improvements or finance transformation initiatives.
Other Requirements
* Fluent in English; additional European language skills are an advantage.
* Travel up to 20% international may be required.
* Professional finance or accounting certifications preferred.
Current Company and Employment Conditions
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate its Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone company, DePuy Synthes, in 18–24 months. On acceptance, the successful candidate will be employed by DePuy Synthes and governed by its employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans, with details to be communicated at a later date.
