Job Description
We are recruiting for Survey Assistants to join the Planning and Economy Service. The role involves surveying, data gathering, mapping, and analysis to support place-based and research projects, primarily through fieldwork to update Aberdeenshire Council’s Facilities Monitor. This biannual project tracks changes in service provision across settlements in Aberdeenshire, enhancing access to information that supports planning and decision-making, including the Local Development Plan.
The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, with the opportunity to participate in various activities and projects across Aberdeenshire. Support will be provided to help you succeed. This position offers valuable insight into the workings of a planning authority and practical experience with the implementation of the Planning (Scotland) Act 2019.
You will work alongside council officers, contributing to community improvements and supporting the council's ambitions. Aberdeenshire Council is a friendly, forward-thinking organization that values teamwork, flexibility, and positive communication.
This temporary role is expected to last up to 3 months, with hours up to 30 per week.

The contract is fixed-term, ending no later than 19 September 2025.
