Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team at HMP Millsike, a Category C men’s prison located in Full Sutton near York. HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. The role supports the government’s drive to reduce re‑offending by ensuring prisoners acquire the skills they need for employment upon release.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high‑quality prison pharmaceutical service, maintaining a high level of security.
* Hold direct patient contact as part of a comprehensive healthcare package.
* Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicine management, drug regimes and medication safety.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Hours
37.5 hours per week with alternate weekends, working on a 10‑week rolling rota. Weekend hours 08:00–17:45.
Salary
£41,659 per annum, depending on experience.

Qualifications
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD).
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience.
* Ability to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures.
Experience
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment is desirable but not essential.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. The role is subject to additional vetting and security checks, and a Disclosure and Barring Service check will be conducted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
