Your Role
A key contributor in the development of new composite products and technologies, from initial concept to qualification. Working in a challenging and fast-paced working environment within the R&D team. The successful candidate will support the design, development and optimisation of a wide range of aerospace products, manufactured primarily through filament winding, HP-RTM, and braiding techniques, utilising novel and efficient joining technologies. Must be a critical thinker with the ability to solve problems through analysis, modelling and simulation.
Responsibilities
* Engage in the design, development, and analysis of novel structural composite components, including the use of first principle calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
* Author reports and documentation necessary to demonstrate technology progression and qualification.
* Support in testing to interrogate and validate component and material performance.
* CAD modelling and technical drawing.
* Develop design and analysis tools for composite components.
* Some CAD modelling and technical drawing.
What You\'ll Bring
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Able to analyse and solve new engineering problems using first principles.
* Excellent grounding in solid mechanics and stress analysis.
* Experience with Matlab, Siemens NX, Abaqus and Excel beneficial.
* Knowledge of composite materials is desirable, willingness to learn essential.
* Highly motivated, with a keen ability to use own initiative.
* Willing to take hands‑on approach to developing components and testing methods.
* Clear open two-way communication skills.
