Within this role you will assist in managing and co-ordinating all works within the local Road network. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under Road (Scotland) Act and New Roads and Street Works Act. Management of Scottish Road Works Register and lead liaison for Scottish Road Works Commissioner. Advise multi-agency safety advisory groups regarding network implications for events.
Assist in managing staff administering claims and customer enquiries. Review existing policies and prepare committee reports as directed. Development of the Network management Quality system and coordination of statutory reporting functions. MAIN DUTIES
1. Be fully accountable for the day to day management of the team and ensure that acceptable professional standards and performance levels are set and maintained.
1. Monitor the performance of individuals reporting to the postholder and take appropriate action as required to maintain standards and output.
2. Prepare, monitor and control Scottish Road Works Register reports and statistics relevant to the responsibilities of the Road Maintenance Partnership.
3. Ensure a fair and equitable distribution of work across the group by making best use of staff flexibility.
4. In relation to overall plans and priorities of the Division, set objectives and agree work targets with the Road Maintenance Partnership Manager, monitor progress and take appropriate corrective action, as required.
5. Ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to engender good staff relations within the Team and endeavour to establish a good team spirit and high morale
6. Promote staff development and CPD through training, coaching and encouragement of individuals/
7. Disseminate information from Departmental and Divisional Management Team meetings and other appropriate sources to members of staff through regular meetings.
