About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our mechanical workshop team in Dover. In this hands-on role, you'll manage daily operations, support on-site work, and make sure all jobs are done safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the workshop team
Plan and allocate work to meet project deadlines
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency
Make sure all work follows company safety procedures and client rules
Oversee workshop tools, equipment, and maintenance
Work with Project Managers to help deliver projects smoothly
Support staff training and development
Attend client and site meetings when needed
What You'll Need
Essential:
NVQ Level 4 or similar in Mechanical Engineering or Workshop Management
Experience in workshop or engineering team management
Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems
Valid safety and machinery certifications (e.g. CSCS, CCNSG)
Good leadership and communication skills
Desirable:
Experience in heavy or industrial engineering
Knowledge of CAD drawings, welding, or fabrication
Forklift or overhead crane certification
Other Requirements:
You'll need your own vehicle to get to our Dover workshop
