Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to utilise advanced estimating expertise to deliver accurate and efficient take-off and quotation services to customers. The Experienced Estimator is responsible for producing detailed estimates and technical drawings that meet specific client needs, supporting the sales function, and ensuring seamless communication and service delivery. This role demands strong decision-making abilities, technical proficiency, and the capability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. As a key contributor to the team, the Experienced Estimator is expected to provide a high level of service, drive continuous improvement, and support the development of best practices within the department.
Key Accountabilities:
Interpret complex customer enquiries to determine product requirements and produce accurate estimates and technical drawings as required.
Respond to customer queries regarding quotations with professionalism and technical accuracy.
Manage project documentation, ensuring all drawings, correspondence, and records are accurately maintained and accessible.
Collaborate with the sales team to align estimating efforts with production capabilities and optimise customer conversion.
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of quotations, consistently meeting or exceeding company expectations.
Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of departmental processes and systems to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Mentor and support junior estimators, sharing knowledge and expertise to develop team capability.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in an Estimating role, preferably within a technical, construction, or manufacturing environment.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office and CAD software (including AutoCAD).
Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify cost-effective solutions tailored to customer requirements.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
Confident communicator with well-developed presentation, listening, and questioning skills.
Proactive and professional approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
Ability to work independently while also contributing to team goals and collaboration.
A continuous improvement mindset and a drive for excellence in customer service delivery.
