Job Opportunity: Interim HR Project Manager (Sickness Absence Management) Location: London, 2-3 days in office, with flexibility for more if meetings require Contract: 12 months interim Rate: c. £350 per day (Inside IR35) Sector: NHS / Public Sector MLC Partners are working with an NHS organisation who are looking to recruit an Interim HR Project Manager, to lead a team who are focussed on resolving long term sickness absence. The Interim HR Project Manager will lead a strategic initiative focused on the effective management of long-term sickness absence across the Trust. This is a specific team who have been brought in to drive down sickness rates. About the Role As the HR Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team managing long-term sickness absence cases. You will drive improvements, ensure consistency and compliance, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver sustainable outcomes. This is a key role that requires someone who is both strategic and operational, with a hands-on approach. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team responsible for long-term sickness absence case management. Develop and implement project plans aligned with organisational goals and timelines Work collaboratively with HR Business Partners, Occupational Health, and operational managers to support case resolution Monitor progress, analyse data, and produce regular reports for senior leadership Ensure project compliance with employment law and NHS policies and procedures Identify opportunities for improvement and propose effective, long-term solutions About You Substantial experience of managing HR teams and leading projects. Strong understanding of long-term sickness absence management within the NHS Previous experience within the NHS Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Able to deliver results in a fast-paced, complex environment.
