Role Overview
Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist based at Kent Prisons In‑Reach Teams. The post holder will provide consultant leadership for the In‑Reach teams at HMP Rochester (4 PAs DCC), HMP Cookham Wood (2 PAs DCC) and HMP Maidstone (2 PAs DCC). Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and support to the multidisciplinary prison mental health teams. Manage a caseload of prisoners with acute and chronic mental illness, personality disorder and ADHD, including triage, outpatient clinics and, when necessary, emergency wing assessments. Complete segregation rounds and other clinical duties as required. Conduct clinical governance, quality assurance activities and contribute to service development, research and teaching. Allocation of 2 SPAs per year for teaching, training, clinical management and other professional activities. Training in Rio and System One, the systems used across the Trust. Structured mentoring from professionally trained mentors. Benefits

Eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register in Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry is required. The role is suitable for candidates with experience in prison or forensic psychiatry.
