Overview

The Design and Technical teams are involved in all aspects of housing design and innovation, and this team is responsible for researching the best materials at the best cost. In terms of design, there’s the sheer variety of our sites, many of them using existing buildings with unique problems to solve. There’s also the question of new materials and our drive for sustainability and value, all in the face of ever changing building and environmental legislation. Most people in this team have an architectural or engineering background, and the role offers the opportunity to gain expertise in design and project management in a thought-provoking setting.


Responsibilities

* Provide architectural support to a number of different developments.
* Produce and amend site layouts.
* Gain building regulation approvals for allocated developments.
* Assist with planning applications; deliver and co-ordinate working drawings.
* Prepare specifications.
* Collate and organise technical information.
* Support provision of technical information for site starts.
* Investigate technical problems encountered and provide viable economical solutions.
* Attend site meetings as required.
* Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance throughout the team.
* Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the company’s reputation.


What You’ll Need

* Excellent communicator, with high detail orientation.
* Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs.
* Knowledge and understanding of the major functions within the remit of Technical.
* Self–disciplined, with demonstrably good time management skills and the ability to manage a number of priorities.
* Ability to multi-task, and work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
* Team player, supportive of colleagues.
