With an annual turnover of over £500 million and a partnership with United Utilities on the new AMP8 framework, our projects include the largest spill‑reduction programme in the UK. We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure projects that improve water and wastewater treatment.
Role and Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure from outline through detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, pipework layouts and safe access arrangements.
* Coordinate with the project team (Electrical, Civil, Geotechnical and Process designers) to ensure designs are delivered on programme, within budget and meet framework specifications.
* Work closely with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions at all stages.
* Engage positively with clients, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach to support their objectives.
* Support the mechanical engineering team through coaching and mentoring, developing skill sets and allocating resources.
Qualifications
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Chartered or incorporated member of ICE, IMechE or equivalent experience.
* Excellent communication skills with team members and stakeholders.
* Methodical problem‑solving approach.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the operational region.
