Job Title: Kindergarten Teacher
Reports To: Lower School Division Head

Job Summary:
The Kindergarten Teacher at our private school plays a vital role in fostering the academic, social, emotional, and moral development of our youngest learners. This educator will create a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and excited to learn. With a focus on foundational skills and whole-child development, the Kindergarten Teacher helps students build confidence, curiosity, and community as they take their first steps in formal education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement daily lessons across core subject areas that are developmentally appropriate and aligned with school values.
* Foster early literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills through structured play, guided instruction, and hands-on activities.
* Encourage exploration and discovery through age-appropriate science and social studies themes.
* Build a classroom culture rooted in respect, kindness, and curiosity.
* Monitor and assess student progress using observations, portfolios, and other appropriate tools.
* Communicate regularly and effectively with parents about student growth, classroom activities, and developmental milestones.
* Collaborate with colleagues to support an integrated, school-wide approach to curriculum and character education.
* Uphold and model the school’s mission and values, maintaining high expectations for student behavior and academic effort.
* Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school community events.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education (required).
* Valid teaching certification.
* Demonstrated understanding of early childhood development and best practices in kindergarten instruction.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
* A passion for nurturing young learners and helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
