Location: Brixton, London
Salary: c£40,000pa
Hours: Full-time, including some evenings and weekends (closed Friday & Saturday)
About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Restaurant Manager to lead the front-of-house operation at this wonderful teaching restaurant in Brixton. This is a unique and rewarding role combining high-quality hospitality with meaningful social impact.
The Charity runs restaurants within prisons, providing training and employment opportunities for people in custody to support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending. As Restaurant Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while mentoring and developing trainees working towards accredited qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring outstanding service standards
Lead, train, and support trainees in a professional hospitality environment
Manage reservations, service delivery, and customer experience
Ensure compliance with prison security procedures, health & safety, and food hygiene standards
Work closely with kitchen management and prison staff to ensure smooth operations
Handle customer feedback professionally and positively
Support administrative duties including rotas, reporting, and stock control
About You
Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or strong Assistant Manager in a quality hospitality setting
Passion for training, mentoring, and developing people
Calm, organised, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills
Strong understanding of front-of-house operations and service excellence
Ability to work within a secure environment and follow strict procedures
A genuine interest in social impact and rehabilitation
