Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged exclusively to source a Finance Manager on a staff basis. Our client is a highly successful, growing SME with operations across the UK. This newly created role will be based in Aberdeen City Centre and is offered on a full time or part time basis. Our client offers flexible working, career development and a competitive salary. This is a broad, varied and hands-on role which will see you oversee all aspects of the finance function and manage a small team. The role is suited to an experienced Accountant/Finance Manager with experience working in an SME environment. The Opportunity Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of accounting records Implementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of financial controls Approval and ownership of balance sheet reconciliations including development of overall process Manage the customer invoicing and collection process Manage the coding of supplier invoices and ensuring that costs are properly allocated Dealing with vendors and managing payment expectations Preparation of month end journal entries Monitor cash position and prepare Cash-flow forecasts Ad hoc analysis and reports Oversee the payroll Manage relationships and customer/supplier accounting contacts Accurately perform cash functions, including A/P and A/R tracking, payroll transactions, expense management and various reconciliations Budget preparation and review Preparing the group year end financial statements and associated disclosures VAT / Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisors Preparation of statutory accounts Background and Experience Previous experience of working in a hands-on role in a small, growing business Proven track record in building financial processes and procedures in a growing company Proven track record of overseeing a small Finance Team Qualified Accountant or QBE Independent with ability to work to deadlines Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders Ability to evaluate solutions in terms of business, financial and client impacts Knowledge in MS Office, particularly Excel Knowledge in Accounting Software – specifically XERO or similar Hands on approach Flexibility and Benefits Flexible working Competitive salary Excellent working environment Next Steps If you are interested in taking the next step in your career or feel a change of environment or sector is your next path, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you!
