Overview
Occupational Therapist required at Claystone School – Bedfordshire LU1 4LL. You will work within a friendly multidisciplinary team in an education setting, delivering bespoke OT assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent or have SEMH needs. You will follow the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and hold an OT caseload with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead. This role supports professional development and opportunities to participate in research projects and professional networks.
Role and Responsibilities
* Deliver bespoke Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils within an education setting.
* Work collaboratively with the education team to support independence and functional outcomes.
* Hold an occupational therapy caseload with supervision and site leadership support.
* Contribute to staff training and consultation as required.
* Adhere to the OFG Occupational Therapy Ways of Working and applicable governing and professional body requirements.
* Maintain a person-centred, safeguarding-focused approach in all interactions with pupils.
Location and Conditions
* Location: Claystone School, Bedfordshire LU1 4LL (part of Options Autism), independent specialist day school for children aged 4-11.
* Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to overlap with core school hours. Part-time hours may be considered.
* Contract: Permanent, term-time only or flexible around a full-time contract can be discussed.
* Salary: Up to £53,200 pro-rata (DOE). Basic grade OT from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+, Highly Specialist from £48,000+.
Essential Criteria
* Recognised Occupational Therapy degree
* Valid HCPC Registration
* Registered member of RCOT
* Relevant experience in providing OT services within a similar setting (preferable)
* Experience with neurodivergent individuals and/or those with learning difficulties and/or SEMH challenges; evidence of transferable skills
* Strong OT theory knowledge with practical application to support independence
* Experience of multi-professional work in the designated specialty (preferred)
* Ability to work independently, be flexible and confident
* Clear and concise report writing skills
* Full UK driving licence with access to a car
* Interest in sensory integration or sensory-informed practice (SI training in progress or completed is preferable, not essential)
